Introducing xBloom's Chronicles Roast Level Tasting Set! Have you ever wondered what roast level of coffee you like? Well look no further, we've come up with a comparative tasting set of a single origin coffee roasted at three roast levels. The idea with this release is to let you explore how flavor notes change across roasts and what roast level you enjoy the most! Plus, it's a ton of fun to taste coffees side by side. We suggest you pick up this set and brew it with your friends and see which one is your favorite.

Each tasting set includes 3x4oz bags of a washed Kenyan roasted by New York's Bean & Bean! Flavor notes and more details below:

Light Roast
Stonefruit · Floral · Honey

Medium Roast
Raspberry · Lime · Cinnamon · Honey

Dark Roast
Dark Chocolate · Raisin · Caramel · Sweet

Each expression of this coffee is unique and enjoyable in its own way! We suggest you explore each style brewed with different methods. For example, you may enjoy the light roast as a pour -over but prefer the dark roast as espresso. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to roast level preferences and this is what makes coffee fun!

Why We Choose This Coffee:

This washed coffee from Yara Estate showcases high quality Kenyan processing. We felt this coffee was a great choice to showcase how roast level impacts flavor because the main components of red fruit and sweetness remain present (& transform) across all roast levels!

When lightly roasted this coffee has classic expressive Kenyan stone fruit acidity with delicate florals and a tea like honey sweetness finish. When medium roasted, the stone fruit acidity becomes a structured raspberry acidity with a fair bit more body and the honey note becomes heavier. When dark roasted, dark chocolate becomes present with large body and a raisin note follows with a caramel sweet finish.

Brewing Advice:

We recommend you brew these coffees side by side if possible. We've found best results by setting up a coffee cupping where you can taste each of the coffees in it's most transparent form one after another. We will be posting tasting and brewing videos soon!

Why We Love Bean & Bean
At xBloom, we're inspired by Bean & Bean, led by the dynamic Mother Daughter Q Grader Duo™. Since its inception in 2008, Bean & Bean's journey from a single shop to a flourishing roastery in Queens, New York, mirrors our values of growth and community impact. We're particularly impressed by their focus on empowering female coffee producers, with over half of their coffee sourced from female-led farms. This dedication to addressing the gender gap in the coffee industry resonates deeply with us. Brewing Bean & Bean's coffee means supporting a movement for equality and positive change, something we at xBloom wholeheartedly embrace and admire.
