Starting 2023 we released a small batch of Brian's favorite coffees to the xBloom community. Everyone loved it and had been asking him for recommendations ever since. (Re)Introducing "Brian's Secret Stash" - a curated coffee subscription featuring truly unique and interesting coffees, perfect if you are looking for an adventure.

Colombia Las Perlitas Lot #6 Washed
This Secret Stash release is a banger for washed coffee enjoyers. This is such an expressive presentation of clean washed coffee and this year’s profile is full of tropical notes and sweetness. I taste fresh plum, bright red fruits, with a clean and sweet finish. We picked this coffee up a few weeks ago and let it rest so when you get it in it’ll just be opening up. I opted for a recipe that pushes the coffee fairly hard with multiple pulse pours so try this recipe out. If you want a heavier body presentation just turn on agitation in the second pour and slightly tighten up the grind. Otherwise taste this coffee and let it rest even more. It’ll really really open up in the coming weeks!

El Triangulo Gesha
This week’s Secret Stash is an exciting expression of gesha and Honduran terroir from Fincas Miersch! This washed gesha comes from their El Triangulo lot and it’s one of the most expressive washed coffees I’ve tasted. I find intense tropical acidity that is structured and layered, a jasmine tea-like presentation, and a floral and clean finish. Once the cup cools this acidity becomes very defined and pops even more! The recipe I went for opts for making it tropical acidity forward but you can push the coffee into 1:17-1:18 ratios for a more harmonious presentation. Honduran coffees of this caliber are hard to come by and the level of acidity and cleanliness is a great example of well processed quality washed coffees. Please let this coffee rest for at least 3 weeks for the best experience!

I'm unable to give any opinion as I never received this item.
For some reason my sub only fulfilled once last month and skipped the second order that was originally scheduled for the 26th, but now shows next order isn't till the 7th.
Plus the website has the current Ethiopia Tagel Alemayehu as the title, but the information is still for the previous Modcup Tres Dragones Natural Colombia - CGLE
The Tres Dragones I did like and went to order more, but it sold out, so I ordered the previous San Jerónimo Miramar and a bag of Rodrigo Sanchez - Mango instead on the 23rd, but it hasn't shipped yet even though it was listed as in stock and would ship in 2 business days.
I had also used the credit given for a previous mis-shipment for a different coffee than what was invoiced.
To look at my sub history, the majority of the invoices for my subs are incorrect for what was actually ordered and shipped, so when I have a bag of pods without a date tag on it I can't match it with an invoice to get an approximate roast date, and even then it could be anywhere from fresh roasted to 8 weeks old when it was shipped.
And not to sound like a whiner, I'd like to mention that quality control on xpods has been terrible for a while.
I have around 60 pods that are basically unusable due to filters being shoved in at odd angles, and some have even been torn in the bottom causing cups full of grounds that I've had to use the Omni dripper and filters to filter the cup a second time, or just use…

I really like Brian's Youtube segments on the upcoming secret stash pods. There is a lot of details that you miss by just ordering and hoping for the best. If you get the Studio you are likely a coffee geek and the more information the better. I would like to see a way to pull the pod recipe off of the cards and on to the phone app. The phone app is good but does not seem to pull in pod recipes when using the included cards.
