It’s back! We’re celebrating Halloween this year with another round of Halloween Candy from Black & White! This is a blend that reminds us of all of our favorite fruity Halloween candies. In the cup we find watermelon candy, blue raspberry jolly ranchers, caramel apples, and a lemon head structured acidity. This coffee is absolutely explosive with three different co-ferment lots creating distinct flavors at all temperatures. When hot, the cup is bursting with candies reminding us of a mix of melted watermelon and blue raspberry candies alongside a super sweet finish. As the coffee starts to cool, there is incredible intensity with a lemon/warheads acidity that pops up alongside a long sweetness and a softer green apple note. You’re able to taste the three co-ferments and how their processing creates flavors from tropical to stone fruit acidity making this cup super enjoyable at all temps. This one’s crazy and we hope you enjoy it as it rests across the coming weeks!

To re-create all of those fruity, nostalgic flavors, we blended one washed Ethiopian coffee with three co-fermented lots:

    •    40% Sebastian Ramirez - Red Fruits (Quindio, Colombia)

    •    25% Sebastian Ramirez - Watermelon (Quindio, Colombia)

    •    20% Huver Castillo - Aponte Florale (Buesaco, Nariño, Colombia)

    •    15% Aricha - Washed (Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia)

While the washed lot from Aricha contributes to that vibrant acidity we associate with all of the candies mentioned above, the three co-fermented coffees give us fruit flavors in spades. 

Much like sorting your candy at the end of the night, sipping this coffee is a fun, fruity, and somewhat ridiculous experience. It is decidedly not subtle – which is kind of the point. Fruity and sweet, zippy and intense, this coffee reminds us of candy from some of our best trick-or-treating hauls: watermelon candy, lemon heads, blue raspberry Jolly Ranchers, and Caramel Apple Pops – just to name a few!
