Be Bright Coffee
Ombligon Nestor Lasso
Cherry, watermelon candy, raspberry, hibiscus From 2024 US Barista Champion Frank La’s roastery Be Bright and award winning producer Nestor Lasso is a fruity and expressive Ombligon! We have found this coffee to be fruit forward with red fruit notes of cherry, raspberry, and hibiscus. We're happy to be featuring coffees like this as they represent stellar processing and unique varietals. When the cup is hot, we find watermelon aromatics with sweet red fruit notes. Once the coffee cools, a structured cherry and raspberry note starts to appear with the coffee finishing very round and sweet! This might also be one of the first times you’ve ever tasted the Ombligon varietal. We have found Ombligons to be intense tasting, reminding us of loud pink bourbons but often skewing towards deeper red fruits and chocolate notes. This coffee is so expressive that it can be brewed in a variety of methods and we suggest you experiment! Read about Ombligon and this coffee's processing here. Ombligon, a rare Ethiopian landrace variety whose cherry has a "belly," hence its Spanish name meaning belly button, is found locally. While some believe it arrived in Colombia from Central America, its exact origin and arrival date are undocumented.

Onyx
Finca Los Nogales Low Caffeine
Dark Chocolate, Strawberries, Hibiscus, Red Wine This will be one of the most unique low caffeine coffees you’ll ever taste! From renowned farm Finca Los Nogales which has produced award winning decaf coffees is this expressive low caff caturra. In the cup we taste strawberries, hibiscus, red wine, and a big bodied dark chocolate. We chose this coffee because of its expressive dark roast profile from Onyx which creates a cup that has intense and loud red fruit notes but is then balanced with a nice dark chocolate and big body. This level of expressiveness is often found with fully caffeinated coffees which is why the processing and work Los Nogales has done is truly special. We suggest you brew this coffee alongside other coffees and see if you can tell if it is decaffeinated! From Onyx:Steeped in nearly a century of Colombian coffee heritage, Los Nogales embodies mastery and innovation. Under Oscar Fernando Hernández’s leadership, the estate champions sustainability and quality, reflected in its meticulous decaffeination process. Using a natural caffeine extraction and a 96-hour fermentation with a mosto-starter, this selection preserves aromatic depth and complexity, culminating in a refined, vibrant cup.
