Story:
Details:

This week’s release is from Newbery Street Coffee (Boston, MA) founded by my friend Pack Katisomsakul! Pack recently placed 3rd place in US Brewers Cup (He also got 3rd last year) and I’m delighted to be featuring a Thai coffee from him. If you were on Secret Stash last year you may remember an anaerobic natural Thai coffee that really wowed me.

This release is a Double Honey processed coffee from Thai producer Jaroon in Khun Lao, Chiang Mai! This coffee is a clean representation of high quality Thai coffee. In the cup I get a black tea forward note, apricot acidity, and a nice caramel finish. What’s interesting about these Thai coffees is that they have a milk tea/oolong cream note to them in the aftertaste. With this coffee I get nice acidity, sweetness, and in the finish I get the Thai coffee terroir flavor. I also want to mention that for these coffee’s, Pack specifically likes to develop them longer to bring out the sweetness. This might be the first time you will try a Thai coffee.
