We have found this coffee to be fruit forward with red fruit notes of cherry, raspberry, and hibiscus. We're happy to be featuring coffees like this as they represent stellar processing and unique varietals. When the cup is hot, we find watermelon aromatics with sweet red fruit notes. Once the coffee cools, a structured cherry and raspberry note starts to appear with the coffee finishing very round and sweet! This might also be one of the first times you’ve ever tasted the Ombligon varietal. We have found Ombligons to be intense tasting, reminding us of loud pink bourbons but often skewing towards deeper red fruits and chocolate notes. This coffee is so expressive that it can be brewed in a variety of methods and we suggest you experiment! Read about Ombligon and this coffee's processing here. Ombligon, a rare Ethiopian landrace variety whose cherry has a "belly," hence its Spanish name meaning belly button, is found locally. While some believe it arrived in Colombia from Central America, its exact origin and arrival date are undocumented.

Other than occasionally getting a pour over coffee in a shop and not thinking it anything special, I came in as a complete pour over rookie. The machine works very well making the coffee - precise, consistent, and fun to watch. Set up is easy. Clear instruction and education is delivered via online videos. The included sample pack of coffee makes it easy to get started and can be a simple way of getting a cup of coffee. A wide variety of coffees is available from xBloom, so if you want to let the machine do all the work, you can. A new automated mode was added to the machine shortly after I got it. I have not tried it but it is there via a firmware update.
The machine programming is also excellent. When I did not keep enough water in the tank it let me know mid-brew, waited for me to fill the tank and picked right up where it left off.
I wanted to use my own coffees in a larger cup than xBloom is set up for. With custom recipes, that was simple too. I gave myself a brief education in how pour over coffee works, modified a recipe using the app to use the amount of water I wanted. Due to a limit on the maximum amount of beans in a recipe (more on that below) I calculated how much coffee beans was needed for the size cup I wanted and poured that amount into the grinder instead of the amount in the recipe. I had never heard of this product until a friend of mine showed me his and brewed me a cup. I'd been intrigued and impressed since that day and finally purchased my own. I’ve had my XBLOOM for over 4 months now and use 4-5 times a day and I Love it !!
Not only does it make great coffee, it’s fun to watch.
My friends are fascinated by it and are amazed by what it can do and how I can control it.
Being able to use the Xpods or brew my own coffee makes it even better and not to mention all the brewing recipes you can get on the App.
Also the customer service is outstanding !!

I bought this device almost impulsively, but absolutely don’t regret it. I’m now in the process of offloading my other brewing devices because the Xbloom has replaced them all — in turn simplifying my life, my kitchen counter, generally improves my morning flow.
The best part I love about the xbloom is that it encourages me to try new recipes and drinks. For example, I’ve never tried flash brewing at home because it’s just too cumbersome. Not so with the xbloom. I can’t wait to grow with this machine!
