This is a wonderful expression of washed Chiroso coming from producer Daniel Caro Lopez! We find strong articulation of acidity and sweetness in the cup alongside the familiar chiroso notes. As the cup cools, a vibrant tropical acidity in the form of Mango ties together with lychee sweetness and an oolong tea body/finish. This coffee is a fantastic example of the Chiroso varietal and we hope you enjoy this one as much as we have!
For best results, we recommend you rest this coffee for at least 4+ weeks!
From SEY:
Daniel Caro Lopez is a young, second-generation coffee producer introduced to us by our export partners at The Coffee Quest. For several years, we have worked together on a project focused on the Chiroso variety, which is specifically cultivated in this region. His farm, El Tambo, is one of the highest in the area at 2,200 masl and spans 33 hectares (~81 acres), with 5 hectares dedicated to coffee. Daniel primarily grows Chiroso, with a small garden of Gesha, and we are excited to see how this farm continues to develop.
