This washed Ethiopian is perfect for those who enjoy complex and clean coffees! We taste a bright yellow fruit acidity and many tea like characteristics reminding us of sipping a yuzu tea. When cooled, a sweet peach begins to appear with lots of delicate florals in the finish. This coffee is super easy to drink but you can pause to think about what you're experiencing. There's tons of complexity amongst the delicate presentation!
We suggest you rest this coffee for at least 3-4 weeks before brewing! This coffee will really open up in the coming weeks.
From Newbery Street:
This coffee comes from Haro Wachu, a renowned washing station located in Uraga, Guji, Ethiopia, grown at altitudes ranging from 2,100 to 2,350 meters above sea level. Ripe coffee cherries are carefully hand-harvested before undergoing meticulous washed processing, resulting in a cup that showcases elegant floral notes and delicate yellow fruit flavors.
In the local language, “Haro” means water and “Wachu” refers to a type of native tree, making the name not just beautiful, but also deeply rooted in the land and culture.
